After removing your laces and washing them separately, rinse your canvas shoes both inside and out with warm water. Start scrubbing the footwear insides, outsides, and also the liners very gently with a toothbrush or soft cleaning brush. Rinse it afterward with cool water.

If you see any scuff marks that remain there, then start scrubbing them using a nylon pad. Be sure to be gentle with your scrubbing strokes. Rinse the shoes again. If the liners of the shoes still have the foot odor then rub that using water and baking soda.

Tip: Many people get desired results while machine washing their colored canvas shoes. However, experts discourage machine washing of canvas shoes as it can simply break down the adhesive, which is used for gluing the canvas footwear together.
